Description
Coprosma acerosa is a member of the Rubiaceae family and is native to the Chatham Islands, as well as the North and South Islands of New Zealand. This low, spreading shrub is adapted to coastal environments and is typically found on the landward side of sand dunes. The plant is characterized by its yellow-brownish leaves, red bark, and blue fruit. It was first described in 1839 by A.Cunn.
