Sanchezia loranthifolia is a member of the Acanthaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the acanthus family. The species is distributed across Brazil, particularly in the northern regions, and also in Peru. It was formally described and published in 1904 by the botanist Lindau. As part of the genus Sanchezia, it shares characteristics typical of this group, which includes other herbaceous and shrubby species found in tropical and subtropical regions.
