Sakhalin Spruce

Picea glehnii is a species of spruce native to Japan and Sakhalin. It belongs to the Pinaceae family, commonly known as the pine family. The species was first described by Peter von Glehn, a Russian botanist and explorer. The tree is known locally in Japan as アカエゾマツ, which translates to 'red spruce'. The scientific name was published in 1880.
