Sabulina fontinalis is a flowering plant in the Caryophyllaceae family, commonly known as American water starwort or Kentucky starwort. It is endemic to the Nashville Basin in Tennessee, the Kentucky River Pallisades in Kentucky, and northern Alabama. The species is found in wet limestone habitats, typically on cliffs or rock ledges with seeping water.

Description

Sabulina fontinalis is a rare flowering plant species in the Caryophyllaceae family. It is restricted to wet limestone environments, particularly on cliffs and rock ledges where water seeps through. Its distribution is limited to the Nashville Basin in Tennessee, the Kentucky River Pallisades in Kentucky, and parts of northern Alabama. The species was formally described in 2014 by Dillenb. & Kadereit, based on earlier work by Short & R.Peter.
