Pyrola rotundifolia L., commonly known as Round-Leaf Wintergreen, is a species in the Ericaceae family. It is native to Europe, Northern and Southern Asia, and parts of North America. The plant grows in moist, alkaline soils, often in bogs, fens, and beech woods. It blooms from May to August with fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers and reaches a height of about one foot.

Description

Pyrola rotundifolia is a herbaceous plant found in regions such as Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and parts of Russia, Japan, Mongolia, and the United States. It is adapted to moist, sandy, or loamy environments and is commonly found in beech woods. The species was first described in 1753 and is part of the genus Pyrola. Its distribution includes areas such as Afghanistan, Albania, Belarus, and the Baltic States. The plant is characterized by its round leaves and fragrant white flowers, which appear from May to August.
