Rotala hippuris

Rotala hippuris is a member of the Lythraceae family, commonly known as the loosestrife family. The species was scientifically described by Makino in 1898. Its geographic range includes the Palaearctic region, with records from Taiwan and Japan. As part of the genus Rotala, it is likely to share characteristics typical of this group, such as aquatic or semi-aquatic growth habits and small, often inconspicuous flowers.
