Description
Wolffia arrhiza is a small aquatic plant with spherical to ellipsoid fronds measuring 0.5-1.5 mm in length and 0.4-1.2 mm in width. The fronds are bright green, with the maximum width just below the water surface. The plant occasionally flowers and rarely fruits, with seeds measuring 0.4-0.5 mm in length. It is distinguished by the absence of roots and the presence of 10-100 stomata. Wolffia arrhiza is found in freshwater habitats and is part of the Araceae family, which includes other water-loving plants like Lemna and Pistia.
