Roemeria sicula, also known as the rough poppy or round pricklyhead poppy, is a flowering plant in the poppy family (Papaveraceae). Native to the Mediterranean region and western Asia, it has been introduced to various parts of the world, including Europe, South Africa, Australia, the United States, Chile, and Argentina. It is considered a minor weed in cereal crops and is expected to expand its range due to climate change.

Description

Roemeria sicula is a species of flowering plant in the poppy family (Papaveraceae). It is native to the Mediterranean region and western Asia, extending as far as the western Himalayas. The plant has been introduced to much of Europe, South Africa, Australia, the United States, Chile, and Argentina. It is known as a minor weed in cereal crops and is anticipated to have a significant range expansion due to climate change.
