Huperzia porophila, known as Rock Club Moss, is a lycopod plant native to the Appalachian region of the Eastern United States and central Canada. It is most commonly found in a north–south belt along the western plateau area, with a distribution ranging from Ontario in Canada to Georgia and Alabama in the U.S.
Description
Huperzia porophila is a member of the Lycopodiaceae family and is found in several U.S. states and parts of Canada. Its distribution includes Ontario, Vermont, Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. This species was first described in 1985 and is more prevalent in the western portions of its range.
