Nothofagus glauca is a deciduous tree species in the Nothofagaceae family, native to Central Chile. It is part of the Maulino forest ecosystem and is found between 34° and 37° South latitude. The tree is commonly called Roble Colorado and is adapted to a maritime mediterranean climate. Its range extends over 330 km from north to south, and it thrives on a variety of soils, often on gentle to steep slopes.
