Rhodiola hobsonii, described by S.H.Fu in 1965, is a member of the Crassulaceae family, commonly known as the stonecrops. It is found in the East Himalaya and Tibet. This species is part of the Rhodiola genus, which includes various plants adapted to alpine and arctic environments. The species was originally named by Prain ex Raym.-Hamet before being reclassified under the current scientific name.
