Rhodiola algida is a member of the Crassulaceae family and is native to regions including Altay, Kazakhstan, Krasnoyarsk, Mongolia, and Tuva. It was first described in 1841 by Fisch. & C.A.Mey., with the original name credited to Ledeb.

Description

Rhodiola algida belongs to the genus Rhodiola and is part of the Crassulaceae family, commonly known as the stonecress family. This species is found in several regions across Central and Eastern Asia, including Altay, Kazakhstan, Krasnoyarsk, Mongolia, and Tuva. The scientific name was formally established in 1841 by Fisch. & C.A.Mey., based on earlier work by Ledeb. The plant is adapted to high-altitude or cold environments typical of its native range.
