Rhodamnia rubescens, known as scrub stringybark, is an evergreen rainforest tree in the Myrtaceae family. It is native to eastern Australia, growing in rainforests from southeastern New South Wales to southeastern Queensland. The species is distinguished by its stringy bark and triple-veined leaves. It does not occur in cool temperate rainforests. The tree is threatened by the pathogen myrtle rust.

Description

Rhodamnia rubescens (Benth.) Miq. is a member of the Myrtaceae family and is found in a range of rainforest habitats in eastern Australia. It is characterized by its stringy bark and leaves with three distinct veins. The species is distributed from Batemans Bay in New South Wales to Gympie in Queensland, but it is absent from cool temperate rainforests. Myrtle rust, a fungal pathogen, poses a significant threat to its survival.
