Rheum wittrockii is a species in the genus Rheum, belonging to the family Polygonaceae. It was first described by Lundstrom in 1914. This plant is native to several regions in Central and South Asia, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Xinjiang.

Description

Rheum wittrockii is a member of the Polygonaceae family, commonly known as the buckwheat family. It is found in the wild in parts of Central and South Asia, specifically in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and the Xinjiang region. The species was formally published in 1914 by the botanist Lundstrom. As part of the Rheum genus, it is related to other plants such as rhubarb. The genus Rheum is known for its perennial herbaceous species, often characterized by large leaves and erect stems. The species is named in honor of the botanist Paul Wittrock.
