Rheum nobile, known as Sikkim rhubarb or noble rhubarb, is a large herbaceous plant in the Polygonaceae family. It is native to the Himalayas, growing in the alpine zone at elevations of 4000–4800 m. Its range includes northeastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and Myanmar.

Description

Rheum nobile is a member of the genus Rheum and was first described in 1855 by Hook.f. & Thomson. It is found in high-altitude regions across Afghanistan, East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Tibet. This plant is adapted to cold, alpine environments and is part of the Buckwheat Family (Polygonaceae).
