Its distribution includes Brazil (North and West-Central), Colombia (Amazonas, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, and the Serranía de Chiribiquete National Park), Bolivia, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad-Tobago, and Venezuela. This species is part of the genus Renealmia and is associated with the tropical ecosystems of the Amazon and adjacent regions.
