Lolium arundinaceum (Schreb.) Darbysh., known as Reed Fescue, is a perennial C3 grass in the Poaceae family. Native to Europe, it has been introduced to North America and other regions. It is commonly found in grasslands and coastal marshes. This species is cultivated for forage, turf, and erosion control.

Description

Lolium arundinaceum is a cool-season grass species widely used for agricultural and horticultural purposes. It is distributed across Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and parts of the United States and other continents. It is also known to occur in natural habitats such as grasslands and coastal areas.
