Hypoxis baurii Baker

Hypoxis baurii, known as red star or rosy posy, is a flowering plant in the Hypoxidaceae family. It is native to South Africa, Lesotho, and Swaziland, where it grows in damp meadows. This herbaceous perennial reaches up to 10 cm in height and width, with lanceolate, sharply folded, hairy grey-green leaves. It produces star-shaped pale or deep pink flowers during summer on slender, short straight stalks.
Description
Hypoxis baurii is found in the Cape Provinces, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, Northern Provinces, and Swaziland. The plant has upturned flowers with tepals of equal length arranged alternately in two ranks. It was first described in 1876 by Baker. The species is characterized by its compact growth and distinctive pink flowers that bloom throughout the summer months.
