Ochna holstii, commonly known as Red Ironwood, is a species in the Ochnaceae family. It was first described in 1894 by Engler. This plant is native to several regions in Africa, including Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe, as well as the South African provinces of Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Northern Provinces, and Swaziland.

Description

Ochna holstii belongs to the genus Ochna and is part of the Ochnaceae family. Its common name, Red Ironwood, is used in English and other local languages. The species is widely distributed across various African countries, particularly in sub-Saharan regions. It was formally published in 1894 by the botanist Engler.
