Pyrorchis nigricans, known as red beaks, is an orchid species native to Australia. It is found in all states except Queensland and the Northern Territory. This orchid typically has one large oval leaf and up to eight red and white flowers. It commonly flowers after hot fires.

Description

Pyrorchis nigricans (R.Br.) D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem. is a member of the Orchidaceae family. It is distributed across New South Wales, New Zealand North, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. The plant is characterized by its single large leaf and up to eight red and white flowers. Flowering is often triggered by hot fires. This species was published in 1995.
