Rafflesia zollingeriana is a species of flowering plant in the Rafflesiaceae family, native to Java. It is one of three Rafflesia species found on the island, but the most rare and geographically restricted. The species is known only from Banyuwangi Regency, Jember Regency, and Lumajang Regency in southern East Java. It was first collected in 1902 by Sijfert Hendrik Koorders and formally described in 1918. Later records include findings in Meru Betiri National Park and Jember Regency.

Description

Rafflesia zollingeriana is part of the Rafflesiaceae family and is native to Java. This species is the rarest and most geographically limited of the three Rafflesia species found on the island. It occurs in Banyuwangi Regency, Jember Regency, and Lumajang Regency in southern East Java. The first scientific collection was made in 1902 by Sijfert Hendrik Koorders on the eastern slopes of Mount Puger Watangan, a forested area near the coast. Koorders formally described the species in 1918. Additional records of the species were later documented in Meru Betiri National Park and further along the coast in Jember Regency.
