Rafflesia tuan-mudae is a parasitic plant in the Rafflesiaceae family, found in Borneo. It grows within Tetrastigma vines and produces large flowers that can exceed 1 meter in diameter. The buds typically develop where the host vine grows along the ground.

Description

Rafflesia tuan-mudae, described by Beccari in 1868, is part of the Rafflesiaceae family. It is a parasitic species that relies on Tetrastigma vines as its host. The plant is known for its massive flowers, which can grow more than 1 meter wide. Unlike some other Rafflesia species, the buds of R. tuan-mudae usually form where the host vine is in contact with the ground, rather than on aerial parts of the vine.
