Rafflesia schadenbergiana, described in 1885, belongs to the genus Rafflesia and is part of the Rafflesiaceae family. This species is endemic to Mindanao, where it grows as a parasite on host plants. The flowers of R. schadenbergiana are among the largest in the genus, with diameters ranging from 52 to 80 cm. It is surpassed in size only by R. arnoldii, making it the second-largest flower in the genus. The species is notable for its extreme floral dimensions and is a rare example of the unique and highly specialized biology of Rafflesia.
