Rafflesia gadutensis is a parasitic plant species in the genus Rafflesia, found in Sumatra, Indonesia. It was first collected in Ulu Gadut, West Sumatra, and was named after this location. The species was formally described in 1984 by Meijer.

Description

Rafflesia gadutensis belongs to the family Rafflesiaceae and is part of the genus Rafflesia, which is known for its parasitic lifestyle. It is distributed exclusively in the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The species was named after Ulu Gadut, the location of its initial collection. The scientific description of R. gadutensis was published in 1984 by Meijer. Like other Rafflesia species, it lacks leaves, stems, and roots, relying entirely on its host for nutrients.
