Sagittaria isoetiformis, known as quillwort arrowhead, is an aquatic plant species in the Alismataceae family. It resembles Sagittaria tenuis but is distinguished by its flattened leaves, in contrast to the round cross-section of S. tenuis. The leaves are typically submerged but can occasionally emerge above the water surface.

Description

Sagittaria isoetiformis is native to the Nearctic and Neotropical regions, with records from Alabama, Cuba, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The species was first described in 1895 by J.G. Sm. It is often confused with S. tenuis, but the flattened leaf structure of S. isoetiformis provides a key identification feature.
