Quekettia papillosa

Quekettia papillosa belongs to the genus Quekettia within the Orchidaceae family, which is one of the largest families of flowering plants. This species is found in the northern regions of Brazil and in Suriname. The name was formally published in 1954 by the botanist Garay, who provided the original description. As a member of the Orchidaceae, it shares the characteristic features of the family, including specialized flowers adapted for pollination by specific insects or other animals. Its geographic distribution is limited to the tropical regions of northern South America.
