Cyanea platyphylla, known as puna cyanea, is a species in the Campanulaceae family. It is native to Hawaii and is critically endangered with fewer than 100 individuals remaining in the wild. The plant is federally listed as endangered.

Description

Cyanea platyphylla (A.Gray) Hillebr. is a member of the genus Cyanea within the Campanulaceae family. It is found only on the island of Hawaii, where it is known by the Hawaiian name haha. The species was first described in 1888 and is considered one of the rarest plants in the region. Due to its extremely limited population, it is classified as an endangered species under federal protection.
