Angelica pubescens, known as pubescent angelica, is a species in the Apiaceae family. It is native to Japan and Taiwan. In Japan, it is commonly called shishiudo. In Mainland China, the plant previously referred to as Angelica pubescens is now recognized as Angelica biserrata.

Description

Angelica pubescens is a member of the Apiaceae family and was first described in 1877 by Maxim. It is found in the wild in Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The species is sometimes confused with Angelica biserrata, which is the correct name for the plant found in Mainland China that was once called Angelica pubescens. The Japanese common name for this species is shishiudo.
