Ptilotus macrocephalus is a perennial herb in the Amaranthaceae family, found in New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. It features glabrous or slightly hairy foliage, linear to narrowly lance-shaped leaves, and dense, oblong to cylindrical flower spikes. The flowers are yellowish green or silvery white. The species was first described by Poir. in 1816.
