Pterophylla racemosa, commonly known as the kāmahi, is an evergreen tree endemic to New Zealand. It belongs to the Cunoniaceae family and is native to both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Previously classified under the genus Weinmannia as Weinmannia racemosa, it was reclassified in 2021 under the genus Pterophylla.

Description

Pterophylla racemosa is a native evergreen tree found in New Zealand's North and South Islands. It is part of the Cunoniaceae family and is known by the common name kāmahi. The species was formerly known as Weinmannia racemosa but was reclassified in 2021 under the genus Pterophylla. This reclassification was proposed by Pillon and H.C. Hopkins.
