Description
Pterophylla fraxinea, previously classified as Weinmannia fraxinea, is a tall tree species native to regions including Borneo, Java, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, the Maluku Islands, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Sumatra, and Thailand. The species was first described in 1830 by D.Don. It is characterized by its tall stature and bark coloration. The name 'fraxinea' refers to the resemblance of its leaves to those of ash trees (Fraxinus).
