Pteroglossa macrantha is a species in the Orchidaceae family, native to several regions in South America, including northeastern Argentina, Bolivia, northeastern and southeastern Brazil, west-central Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Venezuela. It was first described in 1920 by Schltr., based on earlier work by Rchb.f.

Description

Pteroglossa macrantha belongs to the Orchidaceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants. Its distribution spans across multiple South American countries, including northeastern Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil (covering the northeast, southeast, and west-central regions), Colombia, Paraguay, and Venezuela. The species was formally published in 1920 by Schltr., building upon the earlier taxonomic work of Rchb.f. This orchid is part of the genus Pteroglossa, which is known for its diverse and often epiphytic species found in tropical and subtropical regions.
