Pterocarpus rotundifolius, the round-leaved bloodwood, is a species of tree in the Fabaceae family. It is native to mesic and well-watered woodlands in Africa south of the equator.

Description

Pterocarpus rotundifolius (Sond.) Druce is a tree species belonging to the genus Pterocarpus in the Fabaceae family. It is found in several regions across southern Africa, including Angola, Botswana, the Caprivi Strip, KwaZulu-Natal, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Northern Provinces, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. The species was first described in 1917. It is commonly referred to as the round-leaved bloodwood and is adapted to mesic and well-watered woodland environments.
