Pseudowintera colorata, known as mountain horopito or pepperwood, is a woody evergreen flowering tree or shrub in the Winteraceae family. It is endemic to New Zealand and found in the North and South Islands. The species was first described in 1933 by Dandy, based on Raoul's work. Winteraceae are magnoliids and are part of the humid Antarctic flora of the Southern Hemisphere.
