Prumnopitys andina, the lleuque or Chilean plum yew, is an evergreen coniferous tree native to south-central Chile and parts of western Argentina. It grows on moderately wet soils, typically on Andean slopes between 500 and 1,100 meters in elevation.

Description

Prumnopitys andina belongs to the family Podocarpaceae and is found in regions from 36 to 40° South latitude. It is a coniferous tree adapted to the temperate forests of south-central Chile and a few locations in western Argentina. The species thrives on moderately wet soils, particularly on slopes within the specified elevation range.
