Protea angolensis, also called the Angolan protea, northern protea, or northern sugarbush, is a dwarf, multistemmed shrub or small straggling tree found in open wooded grassland and miombo. It is native to Angola, Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe.

Description

Protea angolensis is a member of the Proteaceae family and was described by Welw. in 1859. In Afrikaans, it is known as the noordelijke suikerbos. The plant typically grows in open wooded grasslands and miombo habitats. It is characterized by its small stature and multistemmed growth form, distinguishing it from other Protea species.
