Prometheum sempervivoides is a species in the Crassulaceae family, native to Iran, Lebanon-Syria, the Transcaucasus, and Turkey. It was first described in 1978 by H. Ohba, based on earlier work by M. Bieb.

Description

Prometheum sempervivoides is a member of the Crassulaceae, a family of flowering plants commonly known as the stonecrops. This species is found in several regions of the Middle East and Southwestern Asia, including Iran, Lebanon-Syria, the Transcaucasus, and Turkey. The scientific name was formally published in 1978 by H. Ohba, who revised the earlier classification by M. Bieb. The genus Prometheum includes succulent plants adapted to arid and semi-arid environments, often characterized by rosette-forming leaves and small, star-shaped flowers. Prometheum sempervivoides is one of the species within this genus that reflects the morphological diversity of the group.
