Echium candicans, known as Pride of Madeira, is a flowering plant in the Boraginaceae family. It is native to the island of Madeira and is a large herbaceous perennial subshrub that can grow up to 1.5–2.5 m in height. The species was first described in 1782.

Echium candicans is a member of the genus Echium and is part of the Boraginaceae family. It is native to Madeira and is widely distributed in regions such as Madeira Island, South Africa, Italy, France, Australia, the conterminous 48 United States, California, New Zealand (both North and South Islands), Spain, and Tasmania. This plant is a large herbaceous perennial subshrub, capable of reaching heights of 1.5–2.5 m.
