Pradosia lactescens (Vell.) Radlk., a species of large tree in the family Sapotaceae, is endemic to the Atlantic forests of Brazil. Commonly known as buranhém, it is distributed in the Northeast, Southeast, and South regions of Brazil. The tree is cauliflorous, producing red flowers that develop into small, edible, yellow fruits. It was first described in 1888.

Description

Pradosia lactescens is a member of the Sapotaceae family and is native to the Atlantic forests of Brazil. It is known by the common name buranhém and is found in the Northeast, Southeast, and South of the country. The tree exhibits cauliflorous flowering, with red flowers followed by small, yellow, edible fruits. This species was published in 1888.
