Portulaca hereroensis is a species in the family Portulacaceae, native to several regions in southern and eastern Africa. It was first described in 1900 by Schinz.

Portulaca hereroensis belongs to the genus Portulaca within the family Portulacaceae. This species is distributed across Angola, Botswana, the Cape Provinces, the Free State, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, the Northern Provinces, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. The species was formally published in 1900 by the botanist Schinz.
