Description
Polylepis multijuga is a tree species in the Rosaceae family, described by Pilg. in 1906. It grows up to 15 meters tall, with imparipinnate leaves having 5-7 pairs of elliptic leaflets. The leaves are densely hairy on the underside and have serrated margins. The inflorescences are pendant, bearing 47-83 flowers with four green, hairy sepals and 7-13 stamens. The fruits are turbinate, spiny, and densely hairy. This species is found in the montane forests of the Peruvian Northern Andes and faces threats due to habitat loss.
