Podocarpus polystachyus is a conifer species in the Podocarpaceae family, found in tropical coastal regions of the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi, the Maluku, the Philippines, and New Guinea. It grows in sandy beaches, coastal cliffs, and mangrove swamps.

Description

Podocarpus polystachyus, described in 1847 by R.Br. ex Endl., is a member of the Podocarpaceae family. It is native to tropical coastal areas, including the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi, the Maluku, the Philippines, and New Guinea. The species is commonly known as sea teak. It thrives in coastal environments such as the high tide mark of sandy beaches, coastal cliffs, and mangrove swamps. Its global distribution includes regions in Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
