Nepenthes pervillei is a species of pitcher plant in the family Nepenthaceae, native to the Seychelles. It is endemic to the islands of Mahé and Silhouette, where it grows in rocky areas near granitic mountain summits, with roots extending into rock fissures. This species is found at altitudes between 350 and 750 meters above sea level. As with all members of the genus Nepenthes, N. pervillei is dioecious, meaning that male and female plants are separate.

Description

Nepenthes pervillei was first described in 1852 and is the only pitcher plant species found in the Seychelles. It is adapted to a specific ecological niche, thriving in rocky, high-altitude environments. The plant's distribution is limited to the islands of Mahé and Silhouette, where it plays a unique role in the local ecosystem. Its dioecious nature is a characteristic shared by all species in the genus Nepenthes, contributing to their reproductive strategies in natural habitats.
