This species is native to the island of Sulawesi, where it is restricted to high-altitude habitats. It is a carnivorous plant that uses modified leaves, called pitchers, to trap and digest insects. The species is part of the broader distribution of pitcher plants in Southern Asia but is specifically endemic to Sulawesi.
