Nepenthes hamata is a tropical pitcher plant found exclusively in Sulawesi, Indonesia. It grows at elevations between 1,400 and 2,500 meters above sea level.

Description

Nepenthes hamata, described by J.R. Turnbull and A.T. Middleton in 1984, belongs to the genus Nepenthes in the family Nepenthaceae. This species is native to the island of Sulawesi, where it is restricted to high-altitude habitats. It is a carnivorous plant that uses modified leaves, called pitchers, to trap and digest insects. The species is part of the broader distribution of pitcher plants in Southern Asia but is specifically endemic to Sulawesi.
