Pistorinia hispanica
Pistorinia hispanica (L.) DC.

Pistorinia hispanica (L.) DC. is a species in the Crassulaceae family, native to Portugal and Spain. It was published in 1828. The typification of this species has been discussed due to a lack of explicit designation in the original description.
Description
Pistorinia hispanica is a member of the Crassulaceae family and is found in the Iberian Peninsula, including Portugal and Spain. The species was first described in 1828. Typification of the species has been a subject of discussion in botanical literature. According to the discussion in Chapter 7 on Linnaean plant names, a proposed typification by 't Hart (cited in Eggli's Illustrated Handbook of Succulent Plants, Crassulaceae: 204, 2003) was based on a Loefling collection in LINN (presumably 594.6). However, the typification was not formally effective due to the absence of the required phrase 'designated here' as per Article 7.11 of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants, which became a requirement in 2001.
