Description

Podocarpus parlatorei, described by Pilg. in 1903, is a member of the Podocarpaceae family. It is found in the Global regions of Argentina's Northwest, Bolivia, and Peru. This species is adapted to steep, hilly terrain on the eastern side of the Andes. Due to past commercial harvesting, conservation efforts have been implemented, and it is now listed under CITES for protection. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has evaluated its conservation status as 'near threatened', indicating a high risk of endangerment in the wild.
