Pinguicula filifolia
Pinguicula filifolia C.Wright ex Griseb.

Pinguicula filifolia is a carnivorous plant species native to western Cuba and surrounding areas. It was described in 1866 by Charles Wright. This tropical species grows in swamp-like white sand savannahs and uses sticky leaf secretions to capture small insects, pollen, and plant debris for nutritional supplementation.
Description
Pinguicula filifolia belongs to the Lentibulariaceae family and is found in the warm, humid environments of western Cuba. The plant is adapted to nutrient-poor soils and obtains additional nutrients by trapping small prey with the sticky secretions on its leaves. It is commonly found in swampy white sand savannahs, where it thrives under high temperatures and humidity.
