Pilosocereus zahrae

Pilosocereus zahrae belongs to the genus Pilosocereus within the Cactaceae family, a group of columnar cacti primarily found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. This species is endemic to the Northeast of Brazil, a region known for its diverse cactus flora. The species was first described and published in 2019 by botanist P.J. Braun. As with other members of the Pilosocereus genus, it likely exhibits characteristics such as spiny stems and nocturnal flowering, typical of the Cactaceae family.
