Picris amalecitana is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, native to regions including Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, and Palestine. It is an annual plant with erect or decumbent growth and a flowering stem length of 8-40 cm. The species was first described in 1939.

Description

Picris amalecitana is characterized by its indumentum with lanate hairs and 2-barbed glochids. Basal leaves are oblanceolate with dentate margins, while upper leaves are ovate or oblong and smaller. The involucres measure 10 x 10-13 mm, and the peduncles do not thicken during fruit development. Ligules extend about 5 cm from the involucre. The achenes are heteromorphic, with outer achenes being stout, curved, and pubescent, while inner achenes are slender, straight, and glabrous. The pappus varies in structure between the outer and inner achenes. The species flowers in April and May.
