Phyllachne colensoi, known as the yellow cushionplant, is a member of the Stylidiaceae family. It is native to New Zealand and Tasmania, with the Tasmanian presence being a recent dispersal. The plant is a dominant species in upland bog habitats and is found in high mountain areas of New Zealand. In Tasmania, it is recorded at 12 sites in the west and south-west.

Description

Phyllachne colensoi is a cushion plant species in the Stylidiaceae family, primarily found in New Zealand and Tasmania. It is commonly the dominant vegetation in upland bogs and inhabits high mountain regions in New Zealand. The species has been recorded at 12 locations in Tasmania, specifically in the western and south-western parts of the island. The dispersal to Tasmania is considered relatively recent. This plant was first described in 1877.
